Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy is a method of cancer treatment in which anticancer drugs are given intravenously, by injections, or by mouth. Chemotherapy is often used in conjunction with radiation therapy and surgery, as multimodality therapy. Anticancer drugs are special drugs that can only be prescribed by a person who has been trained in this speciality. These may cause certain serious side effects, which may become life-threatening if not detected in time and treated promptly. In the last two to three decades chemotherapy has made a great impact on the overall survival of many cancers patients.

Access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, yet millions of people around the world, especially those in underserved communities, still face significant barriers to medical services. One critical aspect of healthcare that often goes overlooked is endoscopy, a diagnostic and therapeutic procedure used to examine the interior of organs. To address this issue, the concept of Endobus units has emerged, aiming to bring this essential service to those who need it most the poor and underserved populations.

LINEAC ACCELARATOR MACHINE

A linear accelerator (LINAC) is a device that uses electricity to generate high-energy beams of X-rays or electrons. It is the most common type of machine used for external beam radiation therapy, which is a type of cancer treatment that uses radiation to kill cancer cells.

BRACHYTHERAPY

rachytherapy is a form of radiotherapy where a radiation source is placed inside or next to the area requiring treatment. Brachytherapy is commonly used as an effective treatment for cervical, prostate, breast, and skin cancers, and can also be used to treat tumours in many other body sites.

Brachytherapy can be used alone or in combination with other therapies, such as surgery, external beam radiotherapy (EBRT) and chemotherapy.

IGRT
(Image Guided Radiation Therapy)

Image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) is the use of imaging during radiation therapy to improve the precision and accuracy of treatment delivery. IGRT is used to treat tumours in areas of the body that move, such as the lungs. Radiation therapy machines are equipped with imaging technology to allow your doctor to image the tumour before and during treatment.

IMRT
(INTENSITY MODULATED RADIOTHERAPY)

IMRT is an advanced type of high-precision radiation that improves the ability to conform the treatment volume to concave tumour shapes.
